Bookender is a browser game. We do not require an account.
Data on your device
The game may store small amounts of data in your browser (for example, win streak, best match time, and sound preference) using localStorage. This stays on your device unless you clear site data.
Online play
When you use online multiplayer, your browser connects to another player using WebRTC, typically through PeerJS (signaling) and optional TURN relay servers if the site operator configures them. Connection setup may involve third-party infrastructure; we do not operate those services unless you self-host.
Match traffic is peer-to-peer after setup. Do not share sensitive information in the game.
Optional round chat between players is sent over the same peer connection. It is not moderated, not stored by Bookender as part of normal play, and is visible only to you and your opponent for that session. Do not post personal data, passwords, or unlawful content.
Advertising
If ads are enabled on the site, ad networks may collect data under their own policies. Review your browser’s privacy settings and any disclosures shown with the ads.
